Planning a funeral
My role as a celebrant is to help you plan, prepare and then deliver a funeral service that is just right for you. There is no “right” or “wrong” only what is appropriate for you.
I am not linked to any Religious or Humanist organisation, leaving me entirely flexible in the creation of an individual and very personal service.
Why choose a celebrant-led funeral service?
Increasingly, families tell me that they are not religious but that they are spiritual and so they prefer to have a service which celebrates the life of the person with meaningful words and music which puts that person at its heart.
I strongly believe that the focus of the ceremony should not be on death but on the rich path of life and always with a view to the future. I believe that a service has several very important purposes, to celebrate, honour and pay tribute to the deceased, to say thank you and farewell and, above all, to begin the healing process.
What do I do?
I will call you first to discuss the service with you and make an appointment to visit at which I will help and guide you through the process of preparing the service. This will help us to get to know one another so that I don’t feel like a stranger to you and to enable me to find the best words for your service. Of course, all content will be submitted to, and agreed by family members before the day.
